Cassidy Kozusko, Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

Cassidy believes that while we are wounded most in the context of relationships, we also find the most healing in the context of relationships. She seeks to build a therapeutic relationship with each client built on safety and respect as she helps guide and empower each person on their path toward healing and wholeness.

Cassidy has spent the majority of her time working with teens and young adults, and has experience working with adults throughout the lifespan as well as couples, regarding issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, major life transitions, relationship problems, addictive behaviors, and spirituality issues.

Cassidy’s approach to counseling seeks to be trauma and neuroscience-informed. Trained in a psychodynamic approach, she believes that so much of our present struggles find their roots in our life story and past. She also seeks to see her clients holistically – mind, heart, body, and soul – and knows that true healing will integrate all aspects of the self. Because of this, she also incorporates an emotionally-focused approach, as well as embodiment approaches such as breathing and mindfulness exercises or discussions about self-care.

Cassidy was born and raised in Orlando, Florida, but has just recently returned to live in her hometown. She spent years teaching middle and high school students before earning her Master of Arts in Counseling degree from Reformed Theological Seminary in Oviedo, Florida. Outside of counseling, she enjoys doing any and all outdoor activities, cooking a meal for friends, or spending quality time with her husband, Luke, and rescue dog, Ringo.
