Teens and Young Adults

Adolescence can be a time of opportunity and growth as well as family strain and upheaval. Teens are defining their identity as separate from the family and more within their peer group.  This is a tumultuous time for parents and their teens to navigate and still stay together.

As parents, you have invested a lot of love into your young person and you want them to discover their God given potential.  We often hear parents and their teens talk about how hard it is to understand each other.  Teens sharing that their parents don’t seem to get them or really understand the pressures they are dealing with socially or in school.  We have heard parents talk about their teens anger or disengagement from the family.

Our counselors have experience engaging teens where they are at and helping them feel heard and understood in the midst of their culture, while also trying to help those teens engage their families in ways that increase support and care.
